Scripture: Matthew 7:24–27
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Lyrics
Verse 1
Well, the rain kept fallin’, wind was howlin’ at my door,
Yeah, the rain kept fallin’, wind was howlin’ at my door,
But my house kept standin’, ‘cause it’s built on solid floor.
Verse 2
Saw my neighbor’s house crumble, built on sand so shifting thin,
Lord, I saw that house crumble, washed away by flood and wind,
But I learned long ago — got to build on truth within.
Verse 3
Storms come without warnin’, hit you when you ain’t prepared,
Oh, storms come without warnin’, knock you down if you ain’t cared,
But a rock-steady foundation keeps your soul from feelin’ scared.
Verse 4
So I’m followin’ the Teacher, walkin’ steady in His way,
Yeah, I’m followin’ the Teacher, every word He used to say,
And my house stands firm forever — ‘cause the Rock don’t break or sway.
Outro (optional slow turnaround)
Wind can scream and thunder shock,
But I stand strong — on the House on the Rock.
